Ingredients
1 bag Granny Smith Apples (about 8 cups peeled and sliced)
Cinnamon to taste
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
Topping
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup old fashion dry oatmeal
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup of butter, melted
Method
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place apples, salt, and water in a 13x9 greased glass-baking pan. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon to taste (about 4 tbsp), and set aside. Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. If too soft, add more flour or oats. Cover apples with topping and bake at 350°F for 40 to 60 minutes until apples are tender, not mushy! Goes great with ice cream.
