Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa

What Dreams are made of!

By Gloria Urwin

Feel like you’re a Rockefeller for a night!

Go on; close your eyes and dream of a life of extravagance. The Buhl Mansion is one of America’s finest, intimate inns. This is what luxury is all about!  Every corner is illuminated with crystal chandeliers of every size as they
sparkle in the day’s sunlight adding a majestic glimmer to our surroundings.
Hanging throughout the hallways, great room, gentleman’s study, and
library are beautifully woven silk tapestries and velvet brocade, floor to
ceiling drapes which further capture the elegance of a long lost era. Fine bone china
for flamboyant feasts is fit for royalty. All of these pleasures draw you further into             oblivion as you listen to the elegant music of Mozart being played for your  pleasure as you are welcomed into the castle of Sharon, Pennsylvania’s Buhl Masion.

You can experience the life of luxury and romance at this beautiful boutique
Inn of just ten rooms. With rooms named for the original owners, all provide
a unique ambiance with amenities such as Jacuzzi’s, fireplaces, TV, VCR and
CD players.

James Winner, from nearby Transfer, P.A. had made his fortune
with the invention of the ‘The Club’, a device to prevent car thefts. He
promised the town of Sharon that he would save this historic beauty which had been
destined for destruction prior to Mr. and Mrs. Winner’s elaborate
restorations. To this day, their niece Laura Ackely is the Innkeeper of this
elegant masterpiece; a home away from home that she loves with a passion.

Buhl’s owners, James and Donna Winner, are often found on site when they are not in the
social circles of past presidents or celebrities. They personally attend to
intimate details of the mansion ensuring that their guests are comfortably
relaxed and pampered. With a champagne reception upon arrival, guests are
invited to linger and socialize within the grand room complete with chaise
lounges in the finest of alabaster silk. For dinner, guests are chauffeured
over to the sister inn, Tara, each evening. There is nothing that
guests at Buhl Mansion would ever want, for all their needs are met. That is
why Buhl Mansion is becoming the new destination for honeymooners,
weddings and couples wanting that extra luxury.

You can also lavish in indulgence from the moment you enter into the spa
located on the lower level of the mansion. Experience the Guesthouse
which features such as the Monsoon shower, steam, or sauna service. There are                        Registered Massage therapists to ease those tired muscles or Professional Aestheticians
to magically rejuvenate the skin.

Sharon, PA is an old steel town that now has a new claim to fame and is now a
destination for shoppers.  It is home to enormous outlet malls and the world’s
largest shoe store, just to mention a few of the town’s highlights.

As I make my way up the Scarlet O’Hara staircase, my eyes are attracted to
the hand painted angelic wall cherubs guiding me up to the heavens above.
Overhead, I view the largest, most iridescent chandelier of all which sits
like a crowned jewel at the top of the staircase. The Buhl is host to many
original oil paintings, bronze statues, and magnificent antiques, which are
positioned carefully throughout the mansion.

My escort daintily skitters across the hallway to introduce me to my domain                                  for the evening. Beyond the bedchamber, I capture a vision of the four-person                               Jacuzzi under one of the Mansion’s turrets. To the side, a stunning queen-size,                              carved, four poster bed, writing table complete with champagne, chocolate-covered  strawberries, and a lovely bouquet of roses has left me at a loss for words. Oh, I could get
used to this! As I climb into my down duvet covered bed, a slight whimper
escapes me.  This is THE most comfortable bed I have ever laid in.  Now,
off to Neverland!
